How do I export my documents?
Export your finished documents from the Canvas Editor toolbar as Word files, Outlook email drafts, or both. PII is automatically restored in your exports so documents are ready to send to your client.
Export Options
Click the Export button (or press Ctrl+E) and choose:
- Summary: Saves as a Word document (.docx) via a Windows Save dialog
- Email: Creates an Outlook email draft (.eml) that opens in your default email client
- Both: Creates both files
PII Reintegration
When you export, all placeholder tokens are automatically replaced with the original personal information. For example:
[NAME_001]becomes "John Smith"[EMAIL_001]becomes "john.smith@email.com"[PHONE_001]becomes "(416) 555-1234"
This happens locally on your computer. The exported file contains the real names and contact details, ready to send to your client.
Word Document Export
The exported .docx file includes:
- Professional formatting (Calibri 11pt)
- Consistent heading styles
- Clean spacing and margins
Compatible with Microsoft Word 2016+, LibreOffice Writer, and Google Docs.
Outlook Email Export
The exported .eml file:
- Opens in your default email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.)
- Contains HTML formatting with a plain-text fallback
- Has a pre-filled subject line and body
- You add the recipient, review the content, and click Send
